The History of Shampoo

Shampoo originally meant ''head massage''. It dates back to 1814, when bengali entrepreneur Sake Dean Mahomed provided a service of ''head massages''. These head massages used oils, to rub into the hair/head. Although the man who provided these head massages was Indian, he moved to Enlgand and married an Irish woman. This is where he set up his thereputical message service. The introduction of the head massages influenced and began the idea of shampoo. These ideas travelled, and eventually shampoo evolved into what it is today. Scientists started to experiment by adding different fragrances and chemicals to enhance the quality of the shampoo.
