''Shampoo Island''

There is an island, off the coast of Myanmar/Burma, that is known as being magical. Near the city of Mawlamyine, this island has the usual Southeast Asian temples, murky waters, tropical flora.  That's not what makes this island so ''magical''. This island is magical because of its name & history. Shampoo Island is the name of it.  An island of suds, floating along a river, that smells like baby soap and vanilla and lavender and flowers all mixed together.
The actual history of the place is pretty wonderful. Shampoo Island is here:

It's in a river, just off the banks of Mawlamyine. In ancient times, the Royal family of Myanmar/Burma would visit Shampoo Island just once a year and get their hair washed in the river waters.   Then someone came with a bucket of shampoo  dotted with flower petals, and began massaging everything until it's a  thick lather.
I would love to visit this place one day because it seems so cool!.
